Haseki is one of the oldest villages. In the Almanac of 1891 it is mentioned that Muslims and Orthodox Greeks lived together in the village of Hisarseki, which was then the name of the village. In that year 470 people lived in the village. This figure went down to 257 in 1923, when the Orthodox Greek population left Turkey due to the Lausanne Treaty.
Olive growth and sheep and goat breeding are the main sources of income. Some people earn their living by fishing using fish traps, a typical local fishing technique.
